Hemp

Hemp refers to products intended for industrial uses, including paper, clothing, biodegradable plastics, paint, insulation, biofuel, food, and animal feed. These products are generally derived from Cannabis sativa plants with a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis. The 2018 U.S. Farm Bill not only removed federal restrictions on growing hemp, but also allowed states that have legalized the manufacturing of hemp products, including Washington state, to sponsor research into study the benefits of cultivating industrial hemp.
